So you were a great individual contributor who got promoted into leadership, now what?

  • I’ve been a first-time leader in high-growth startups too, so I understand the challenges.

  • It’s as much about who you are and want to be, as it is about the firsts you’re navigating.

  • You often need a blend between someone whose been in your shoes and can offer advice, alongside a great coach who can empower you to navigate firsts for yourself.

How does it work?

Approach

There are two approaches I typically take with first time leaders:
1. 1-1 Coaching for the new leader, similar to the approach for a first-time exec.

2. If a startup has a number of people in a similar situation then I work with the People function to create a leadership training series alongside 1-1 coaching to support the individuals as they try to put the lessons learned into practice.

My style of coaching is holistic and informed by my own experience as a product exec in high-growth startups; coach training in areas of neuroscience, behaviour change, therapy and organisational systems; years of teaching yoga and meditation; and first hand experience of coaching a diverse portfolio of leaders.
